Holiday Open House
Sat April 2-3, 2016
It’s the celebration of the founding of the winery! Join us for Swinging Gypsy Music from the Portland Gypsy Jazz Project , and Lilli’s homemade Hungarian Goulash!
We’re also releasing several new wines including-
- Lilli Sparkling Rose’ – our luscious Pinot Noir left on the skins just one night and then made as champagne. Light, crisp and delicious! Named for the matriarch & ‘boss’ of the family…
- St Josef’s GAMAY NOIR- Aromatic, dark and dreamy. Gamay brings a spirit to the vineyard with strawberry notes, earthiness and a bit of zest. Whole cluster pressing and extended maceration at fermentation provides the extra character and vibrancy. Enjoy with roasts & fowl.
12-5pm each day. $5 cover includes tasting. Free for Wine Club Members.
Before there were microbrews or artisan coffee in Oregon- there was St Josef’s Winery. St Josef’s Day celebrates the founding of St Josef’s winery and the beginning of the season as spring buds appear in the vineyard. St Josef’s planted their first vineyards in 1978 and had their first (legal) vintage was in 1983; becoming one of the first 30 wineries in Oregon. Since then the Oregon wine industry has boomed becoming the fourth largest state in wine production with over 500 wineries and grapes have recently become the number one agriculture product in the state.
