When is St Josef’s Winery Open?
We’re open all year around- Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays 12-5.
And Open Daily 12-5 by reservation during the Tulip Festival Season in late March / April.
(Closed on Fridays in January & February)
Where is St Josef’s Winery located?
St Josef’s is located in the verdant green farmland outside of Canby in Oregon’s Willamette Valley- just 20 minutes south of Portland. It’s the closest winery to the Swan Island Dahlia Farm; and just minutes away from the Woodenshoe Tulip Fields, the Woodburn Outlet Mall and Mt Angel Octoberfest. It’s also a great stop on the way to visit the waterfalls at Silver Falls State Park or antiquing in Historic Aurora, Oregon.
Does St Josef’s do wine tasting?
Yes our tasting room is open from 12-5pm. Our last tastings begin one hour before closing.
Is St Josef’s Winery Open during Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival?
Yes -St Josef’s Winery will be Open Daily 12-5 during the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. The tulip festival is just minutes away- We suggest that you call ahead or email to make a reservation so that they can be ready for you.
Is St Josef’s Winery close to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival?
St Josef’s is one of the closest wineries to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival- only a 5 minute drive away.
Do we need a reservation to taste wine @ St Josef’s Winery?
No- groups of six or less do not need a reservation. However, if you can reserve a table in advance so they are ready for you by calling ahead or emailing the winery.
What wines are available for tasting?
Each week we will have a seasonal selection of that showcases what we grow and make right here, including new releases and winery favorites of whites, reds and sparkling wines to choose from.
How much is a tasting?
Our tasting includes a flight of wines for $15. St Josef’s will also waive two tastings with a 3 bottle purchase- a $30 discount.
What type of wines does St Josef’s make?
St Josef’s grows and makes wines naturally from their 5 estate vineyards. Including a wide range of wines to fit any finicky palette. Crisp white wines including Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, fruity German style Riesling and Gewurztraminers. And rich red wines including earthy Pinot Noir, smooth Syrahs and delectable Gamays. And a line of beautiful sparkling wines named for Lilli- the matriarch of the family.

It has been named one of the Top 10 wineries in Oregon by Lonely Planet Guide, named a Top 100 Destination in Oregon, and written up in many magazines and journals including Sunset Magazine, Portland Monthly, Alaska Airlines, Wine Spectator, Via Magazine, NW Palate and many more.
Does St Josef’s Winery have events?
St Josef’s is famous for their friendly, casual hospitality and lively events. Including the NW’s Original Grapestomping Festival in September, Memorial Weekend BBQ and Bike Ride, Cheeseburger in Paradise Party in August, Summer Sunday Afternoon Music Serie , along with Winemaker Dinners, food pairings, barrel tastings and other seasonal events.
How many people in a group can come in to taste without a reservation?
We can accommodate groups of up to 6 walking in to the winery to taste. Groups of 7 or more can make a reservation 48 hours in advance or reserve a private room or space at St Josef’s.
Can a group of seven or more come in and do a tasting?
Not without a reservation at least 72 hours in advance. Our seating areas are set up with tables for up to six people. We encourage you to enjoy our wines by the glass or bottle. Groups of 7 or more can make an advance reservation or reserve a private room or space at St Josef’s.
Is there food available?
We serve light bites including our delectable charcuterie boards- a lovely assortment of meat, cheese and other items. Perfect for pairing with wines and friends. Along with local nuts and other snacks.
St Josef’s is a winery – not a restaurant. On summer weekends we usually have a rotating cast of local food carts that will hit the spot. If you’re looking for a substantial meal we suggest you visit one of the local spots that serve our wines including Filberts Farmhouse, the Markum Inn, and Cutsforths Thriftway.
Are there other drinks available? We have beer for the non-believers, as well as assorted non-alcoholic beverages. We don’t serve coffee, energy drinks or cocktails.
Can we picnic on the property?
Yes- We allow picnics at the pond amphitheater & crush pad patio area during our normal business hours 12-5pm. (except during special events). No outside beverages are allowed at any time.
We don’t allow outside food or drink in the winery, fountain courtyard, Lilli Pad Shed or tasting room deck areas. Charcuterie boards, local nuts and local chocolates are available for purchase.
We are not doing tastings at the pond or crush-pad patio, but you can purchase wines by the glass or bottle to enjoy. We ask that you spend a minimum of $25 per person to help pay for the upkeep and keep us in business. ($25 dollars equates to one glass of wine plus a bottle of white wine to take home).
Can I reserve a group table outside to picnic?
Yes, you can call ahead or email to have a reserved table under umbrellas or the grape arbor on the crush pad patio or fountain courtyard. We ask that you spend a minimum of $25 per person to help pay for the upkeep and keep us in business. ($25 dollars equates to one glass of wine plus a bottle of white wine to take home).
Are the wines expensive?
St Josef’s winery philosophy is that wine is part of food and should be available at a fair price. St Josef’s wines are very affordable with pricing between $16-$35 per bottle for sustainably grown wines from their own vineyards. There are also discounts for wines to go, case purchases and for wine club members.
Are Children or Dogs Allowed?
Dogs & minors are allowed, as long they and the owners are well behaved. But it is a winery, not a park or playground. They will need to be supervised or on the leash at all times.
Animals are not allowed in the winery or tasting room at any-time and not during special events. Normally dogs on the grounds are OK- but every dog is different. (We aren’t worried about your dog misbehaving- but someone else’s…).
