Fruit, Earth & Spice: the wines of St Josef’s
We live on the land, we grow the fruit, we make the wines – and have fun doing it! Small & Unique, St Josef’s has produced premium, handcrafted wines since 1983. Because we are family owned & operated; we make the wines the way we like them. Our goal is food-friendly wines that can enhance any meal without breaking the bank; as well as a line of reserve wines to enjoy on special occasions (like Tuesdays).
Owner & Winemaker Josef and family oversee each harvest, fermentation, each barrel and even every bottling for over 30 years. It is this ‘hands-on’ dedication that has earned St Josef’s over 400 awards & accolades. Including 90 point ratings in multiple magazines and Gold Medals in prestigious contests on both coasts – the NYC Wine Show and the National Orange Competition in LA.
Food Friendly wines
We believe that wine is one of the pleasures of life and everyone should be able to enjoy a glass of good wine with their meals every day! “Food friendly” means that the wines enhance the experience of the food, not overwhelm it. Our wines enjoy the warm days and cool nights in the Willamette Valley – producing the bracing acidity that is nimble with food. Foodies everywhere are searching for these fresh vibrant wines and you will find St JOSEF’S listed on many ‘best buy’ and ‘best value’ lists.
We hand harvest and hand select our fruit – because we are small and family oriented, we expect each vintage to have special character. And with our natural hands off winemaking style we focus on producing only limited quantities of each release. This level of detail along with our sustainability provides us a canvas to create a better bottle of wine… food friendly, with subtle upfront fruit and long finishes. And we are always striving to make the next vintage the best one yet…
